The working principle of the transformer is the principle of electromagnetic induction. The transformer has two sets of coils. Primary and secondary coils. The secondary coil is outside the main coil. When the primary coil is connected with AC, the transformer core generates alternating magnetic field, and the secondary coil generates induced electromotive force. The turns ratio of the transformer coil is equal to the voltage ratio.
